Now is your chance to work with one of the leading Public Works
Departments in the country. The City of Norfolk, Virginia is looking
for a Traffic Signal Engineer (#4865) to join our Transportation
Engineering team.
This is an advanced professional engineering position that involves a
variety of traffic signal engineering analysis and signal design. This
includes, but is not limited to, traffic signal modeling, re-timing and
working with the Norfolk Smart Traffic Center staff regarding the day to
day signal system operation. The Traffic Signal Engineering position
includes an excellent benefit package, job security, free parking and
paid holidays and no travel.
The position has a salary range of $47,871 - $76,527 per year, depending
on your qualifications; this is the job you have been looking for the
ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with major coursework in
civil engineering and two years of progressive professional experience
preferably in traffic engineering. You are required to have a valid
driver's license and an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification, or
equivalent.

Civil Engineer with Masters Degree majoring in Geotechnical Engineering
with at least 3 years of experience or equivalent. Design earth
retaining structures, perform field inspections. Additional duties may
include supervision of soil and concrete labs. Site throughout Hampton
Roads area. Desired certifications include ACI (American Concrete
Association) and USNRC (United States Nuclear Regulatory
Commission).
