Dr. Yoon's research interests include Numerical Water Quality Modeling, Diffusive/Dispersive Particle Transport and fate, Stochastic methods in Water Resources/Quality, Point/Nonpoint Source Pollution Modeling, Statistical Optimization/EC, Geographic Information System (GIS) and Macro- and Meso-scale Spatiotemporal Simulation.

He is an active member of ASCE, AWRA, ASABE, AGU, ASPRS, and serves as an associate editor for IJSDP, a reviewer for JEnvE/Jhyd/JWRMP/ASCE, JAWRA, Trans.ASABE, Trans.AOS/AGU, IJGIS, IJSDP, IEEE and JEQ.
